Once upon a time, when I first joined the Historical Novel Society, I’d avidly read the quarterly Historical Novel Review, dreaming that one day my own books would be reviewed there, and perhaps there would even be a feature about my work…
Well, it’s happened! Look at the wonderful interview by Douglas Kemp, in the August issue.
Douglas says many lovely things about my work. He asked specific questions about how I ended up writing espionage stories, and how I approach historical research. It was quite interesting, and I love the end result to bits.
And, by the way, if you are a writer and/or reader of historical fiction, I can’t recommend the HNS highly enough: apart from the quality of the magazine, always packed with reviews, market news, and excellent features, the Society offers to members all sorts of awards and events (the annual Conference most of all), and a very welcoming community. Do consider joining.
