Kent…Now that summer’s here!

Actually, my plans are for May or June. A week or ten days strolling leisurely through Kent, visiting villages, manors, gardens and places like Scadbury – and ending, of course, with a few days in Canterbury…

“A very Marlowe-themed thing,” she said, to nobody’s surprise.

Alas, so far it has proved one of those always-next-year plans. I’m most definitely KentCanterburygoing to do it, some day – in company with my equally Anglophile mother – but oh to be there, now…

One could visit Ightham Mote, which is very likely what Scadbury looked like.  And Canterbury’s Rash Boy, an exhibition “put together by the Marlowe Museum Cambridge Project” at the Eastbridge Hospital.

Ah well, thank heaven for the Internet: at least, one can always see places, and make more plans.
