Tonight.
Tonight is first night for Shakespeare in Words.
We’ll still squeeze in a scrap of tech rehearsal late this afternoon (or so I devoutly hope) and then…
I’m going around in a thrill. I’ve got so many butterflies in my stomach (ugh!) that I hardly know where I am. And I have the most wonderful mask a Chorus ever wore. And the phone rang five minutes ago, and I jumped out of my skin. And the more last-minute things I do, the more seem to crop up. And what if the new man at the board messes up the lights? And what if I trippingly trip onstage to the tune of Kempe’s Jig and go blank? And, and, and…
Oh dear.
Wish me broken legs and all, will you?

Break a leg, my friend.
Possibly the leg of someone that deserves a broken leg.
